In summer the landscape of the Val di Sole is a triumph of striking, majestic scenery: timeless glaciers encircle huge, lofty mountains, on the side of which lush woodland grows as you make your way down towards the orchards at the bottom of the valley.

Another distinctive feature of the landscape is the water, which there is an abundance of in the Val di Sole, Val di Pejo and Val di Rabbi. While the Noce Torrent runs along the valley bottom and is ideal for canoeing, rafting and kayak fans, numerous little torrents make their way down the mountainsides, and at altitude, the frothy white of the waterfalls rushes through the landscape.

And the water in both the Val di Rabbi and the Val di Pejo even has therapeutic properties, which has assisted the development of thermal tourism, with two spa establishments in Rabbi and Pejo.

A perfect complement to the alpine landscape are the attractive traditional alpine constructions built by the mountain folk in the Val di Sole, Val di Pejo and Val di Rabbi, such as the typical mountain chalets built in wood and stone that are an integral part of the landscape in the Val di Rabbi side valley.

The villages in the Val di Sole, in which the features of traditional alpine villages can still be seen, offer a host of buildings of historical and artistic interest, such as numerous churches, Castel Caldes, the Rocca di Samoclevo, and Ossan Castle.

In Malé, the administrative centre of the valley, the Museum of the Civilisation of the Val di Sole offers visitors the chance to find out about how the small mountain population of the Val di Sole once lived.
